Jonah took his own turn at the pinata and later checks out his candy!
An ongoing journal of the lives of the Kansas Cartwrights
Jackson's birthday fell on a Saturday this year, so it was one big party day. His friend Michael spent Friday night with us. We woke up and had cinnamon rolls. We also collected all the cars we could find and set them up(yes there are some missing). I worked hard at decorating his cake from a picture I found on the internet. I think it came out pretty good. :) Definitely tasted good!

It's hard to believe our little premie is 4 years old now. I had to put these pictures up as a comparison. He was born 4 lbs 1 oz and 16 inches long. He now is 36 lbs and 41 1/2 inches tall (75% for his age). In this 2nd picture, he is wearing a premie outfit that was still too big for him. I think that's the first time he had on real clothes (thanks Uncle Clay) and he was probably 10 days old. Wow! All I can say is God is good. He definitely took care of all of us those first couple of weeks. I remember the nurse saying that he would have to be in the hospital up to his due date which would have been 8 weeks, and yet because of many prayers, he was home in just 3 1/2 weeks. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support during that time.

Jackson and Jonah collided coming around a corner. Jackson had a car in his hand which apparently made contact with his face, and here is the result. The picture doesn't really do it justice... it was pretty ugly looking. You've gotta love the dirt all over him. It just adds to it! And, of course, the lovely attitude.
We went to Savannah one evening and walked along the river and ate dinner outside. We saw 2 huge container ships come into port during dinner.

So opening weekend we had a house rival. Chiefs vs. Texans. As you can see the kids were really cooperative in taking the pictures. They do however love to watch football. They usually reenact it while its on. Jonah will get his football and get down on one knee, holding it. When the ball is hiked on TV, then he will get up and start running around and then pretend like he's been tackled and fall to the ground. It's hilarious to watch. We will work on getting it on video for all to enjoy!
They caught a lizard on our porch. Jackson decided to give it a kiss. I have to thank my dad for telling Jackson that you can pull off lizard tails and they will grow back. About a week after my parents left, Jackson comes in telling me that he pulled a tail off a lizard, but that its okay b/c it will grow back. I went outside to look and sure enough, there was a lizard tail.
