Just a swingin'

Jonah has figured out a new way to swing. His feet can just barely touch the ground, but he walks forward and goes swinging. He gets himself going pretty good and even spinning a little.

Definition of a Great Day!

So I got up today and decided to try on some shorts that I haven't worn in over 2 years, and they fit! And then I stuck my hand in the pocket and found 20 bucks!! You can't get much better than that.

Phew!

Well, we survived our home study. It actually was pretty painless. The social worker came and took a tour of our house and we talked about parenting. The most stressful part is the mound of paperwork that she left behind. Yes, there is more. And this paperwork can not have any errors on it. not whiteout, not a cross-out, nothing. It all has to say the exact same thing in all the right places. Then it all has to be notarized, and then we have to take it to Columbia and have the Secretary of State put the Apostille (Great Seal of the State) on it. This is definitely an educating process. BTW, there's more paperwork once we get the referral and then more somewhere around our 2 trips to Russia! It will all be worth it in the end! Keep up the prayers.
Oh, and last week when the Pottery Barn Kids catalog came, I actually looked at the girl stuff. How fun is that?!

How cute is this!

Jonah enjoys a chocolate chip cookie!

He also is getting obsessed with hats, however will not keep them on very long. He just wants to put them on himself, no help allowed!

Charleston

We went with my parents and grandparents this February to Charleston. As you can see we picked the coldest day of the year to go, but it was still fun. We took the ferry boat to Fort Sumtner and got the grand tour. Then we walked around some of the homes near the water. Jackson even chased some pigeons! For the artistic pics, visit Clay's website.

Website

For all the cooks out there, I found this new website www.allrecipes.com. It seems pretty cool. Lots of tips and recipes, and you can even watch videos of some of the techniques!

A Man of Few Words

So Jonah is not the huge talker that Jackson was, but every once in awhile stuff just comes out and surprises us. The other night at dinner, Clay was praying and got to the end and we hear this little voice say, "Amen". Clay and I just looked at each other like did he really just say that. Then he repeated it several times... so cute! He does say "ball" which is favorite thing and he says "hoppop" which means he wants to read Hop on Pop, his favorite book! and sadly enough he says "Dora". He also loves to sing, so he tries "ei, ei, o" from Old McDonald and he sings "Backpack" and "I'm the Map" from Dora.

Big Word

So Jackson was eating dinner the other night and was using his fork to stab his pineapple pieces. He was having trouble with a particular one and he says in a very frustrated voice, "It's being so uncooperative!" I about fell out of my chair laughing. how does he even know what that means.

Me and Jonah

I just liked this picture. It's outside the condo that my grandparents rented when they were here in February. As you can see we do get some cold days around here!
