Jackson took gymnastics all spring, but I just now got around to getting the pictures on my computer! He loved it, but his coach is pregnant now and taking a break.
Kangaroo jumps on the balance beam.
Jackson was a little afraid of the bar especially going upside down, but see the grin of satisfaction afterwards.
Fish face conquers the balance beam!

adoption update
Here's the latest news from Russia. This is all still a little unofficial, but it is progress. The following came in an email from Bethany's European coordinator.
I am always hesitant to "put out" news that has not been officially given but because two families have already questioned this, I thought it would be appropriate for all to know. Yesterday we learned that 5 agencies (at least two American) had their accreditation documents returned to the Ministry of Education in Moscow having obtained the approval of the Ministry of Justice, Security etc. Their Certificates of Accreditation have not yet been issued but it appears that the re-accreditation process is working. We don't know if the certificates will be issued immediately or is they will wait to do as a group - still many unknowns. The other question being asked is whether Nightlight or Adopt A Child is one of the agencies. They are not - their documents are still in process.

Mini-Vacation Day 2
On the 2nd day we visited the Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens. We didn't actually make it to the garden part! We got to feed the lorikeets. Jackson didn't really have the patience for it, but Jonah did a great job of holding still and waiting for the birds to come. Jackson got to go on his first pony ride, and loved it. The pony's name was Spooky. It was a great day and the rain didn't start until we were leaving. So in tradition we once again got to drive home from Columbia in the pouring rain!
Mini-Vacation
We took the boys to Columbia, SC for a little weekend getaway. The first day we visited Edventure, a hands-on children's museum. They had a travelling bubble exhibit that was pretty cool. You can see the boys trying to make a bubble around themselves. They also had a miniature Piggly Wiggly's grocery store. The boys shopped and got to check themselves out. Strangely enough they were more interested in the grocery store than the huge fire truck. I guess we know what they spend the most time doing :) Jonah liked the drums that you could play along with the tribal people on the big screen! The only thing they didn't like was the gigantic 2-story creepy boy "Ed" that was in the middle of the museum. You could climb in the backside of him and they're was a slide and stuff inside!

A Father's Proud Moment
Just in time for Father's Day, Jonah said the thing that made Clay's day and was the best present he could have gotten. Jonah was playing in Jackson's room this morning and pointed to a pile of toys and said...
Star Wars!! :)

Adoption Update
Well, there's not much to tell. We're just waiting for Russia to get their act together. The following link will take you to Bethany's site. They have a monthly letter that updates all the countries, so you can scroll down and read what's going on with Russia. We've done all we can up to this point, so now we pray!

The many sides of Jonah
Jonah is quite fun and challenging these days. I'm amazed everyday at the new words he can say. He can name way too many of the cars from CARS! He is especially obsessed with shoes, so here he is with Clay's sandals on. He will walk around with them on and try to jump up and down.
...and here is the amount of cheerios that he dumped out before I could get down stairs to stop him. This doesn't count the ones that he and Jackson scarfed down before I swept.
All that craziness definitely wears him out. He fell asleep in the wagon on the walk home from the pool.

Floor Project
We spent part of Memorial weekend on our first serious house project. We decided to stain the porch floor. We had to treat the floor first, then stain it, and then add the clear coat. We used a brownish color with some red over it that matches our furniture! We are rather pleased with ourselves :) It makes it seem much more like a room and less like an outside patio. Anybody that wants to visit and check it out is more than welcome!!
